Record fuel prices caused by the Iran war could drive German annual inflation above 3% in September, the highest level since late 2023, according to data due to be released on Wednesday. The price of Brent crude temporarily rose well above $100 per barrel, while petrol and diesel prices reached record levels at German filling stations. The German government now plans to provide motorists with further relief.
