(RTTNews) - After ending yesterday's choppy trading session modestly lower, stocks are likely to move to the upside in early trading on Wednesday. The major index futures are currently pointing to a higher open for the markets, with the S&P 500 futures up by 0.4 percent. The futures advanced following the release of a closely watched Commerce Department report showing consumer prices rose by slightly less than expected in the month of August. The Commerce Department said its personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index increased by 0.3 percent in August following a revised 0.1 percent uptick in July. Economists had expected prices to climb by 0.4 percent compared to the 0.2 percent increase originally reported for the previous month.
