(RTTNews) - The Taiwan stock market on Wednesday snapped the two-day losing streak in which it had given up more than 525 points or 1.2 percent. The Taiwan Stock Exchange now sits just above the 47,940-point plateau although it may be stuck in neutral on Thursday. The global forecast for the Asian markets is mixed to lower as a rebound in crude oil prices may be tempered by an improved outlook for interest rates. The European and U.S. markets were mostly lower and the Asian bourses are expected to open in similar fashion. The TSE finished modestly higher on Wednesday as gains from the technology and petrochemical companies were capped by weakness among the financial and construction sectors.
