Inflation in the eurozone accelerated to 3.8% in September - GMK Center

Annual inflation in the eurozone accelerated to 3.8% in September 2026, up from 3.2% in August. This is shown by a preliminary estimate from Eurostat. In particular, energy prices rose by 18.8% last month, compared with 14.3% in August, whilst non-energy industrial goods rose by 1.1% (1.2% in the previous month). Annual core inflation, which excludes food and energy prices, accelerated to 2.5% (2.4% in the previous month). Among the region’s largest economies, annual inflation in September stood at 3.3% in Germany, 3.4% in France, 4.1% in Italy and 5% in Spain. As Bloomberg notes , the 3.8% rise in consumer prices in September was the highest since September 2023.
