Hapag-Lloyd has announced an upcoming General Rate Increase and General Rate Adjustment covering shipments from the Indian Subcontinent, Pakistan and the Middle East to North America, according to the carrier. The adjustment applies to cargo moved in 20-foot and 40-foot dry, reefer and special containers, including High Cube equipment. The increase takes effect for all containers gated in full from November 1, 2026, and remains valid until further notice, the company stated. For shipments to the North America East Coast and Gulf Coast, the amount is USD 1,000 per container. For shipments to the North America West Coast, the amount is USD 1,500 per container.
