Before UK Greens, who else has equated Zionism with racism?

The United Kingdom’s Green Party has voted to define Zionism as a form of racism, drawing condemnation from the Israeli government. In a binding vote held at the party’s conference over the weekend, members voted to usher in the new definition as well as a series of other strongly pro-Palestine policies. However, just as the resolution has drawn international criticism, it has also proved internally controversial with four of the party’s five members in parliament opposing it. Israel on Monday banned party leader Zack Polanski from the country just a day before the politician faces a by-election as he runs in the London constituency that former Prime Minister Keir Starmer represented. Zionism emerged as a political ideology in the late 19th century.
