Prague (dpa) - Czechia's consumer price inflation accelerated more than expected in September to its highest level in five months, flash data from the Czech Statistical Office showed on Tuesday. Consumer prices climbed 2.5% year-on-year in September, faster than the 1.9% increase in August. The expected inflation rate was 2.4%. The rate matched the level last seen in April. Energy inflation, including motor fuels, quickened to 5.9% from 2.3%. Goods prices were 2.1% higher after rising 0.2% in August. Services inflation edged up to 4.6% from 4.5%. Meanwhile, deflation in food and non-alcoholic beverages eased to 3.5% from 4.3% in August. On a monthly basis, consumer prices were unchanged in September, against expectations of a 0.1% fall.
