Sweden's consumer price inflation rose less than expected in September to its highest level in more than 18 months amid higher energy prices, preliminary data from Statistics Sweden, the country's national statistics office, showed on Wednesday. The consumer price index rose 1.1% year-on-year in September, up from a 0.3% increase in August. Economists had expected inflation to rise to 1.3%. This was the highest inflation rate since February 2025, when prices rose 1.3%. Inflation measured by the consumer price index with a fixed interest rate rose to 1.5% from 0.7%. Detailed results for September will be published on October 14.
