Constellation Energy's CEG new agreement with Alphabet Inc.'s GOOGL Google gave nuclear stocks a sharp lift after a difficult stretch for the sector. The deal matters because Google is putting long-term money behind nuclear power to meet rising electricity demand from data centers. Investors quickly carried that signal beyond Constellation Energy, sending Talen Energy TLN, Oklo Inc. OKLO and NuScale Power SMR higher as well. Constellation Energy shares climbed more than 12% following the announcement, while Talen Energy also posted a double-digit gain as investors looked to other nuclear-exposed power producers.
