Berlin's Brandenburg Gate is illuminated in the colours of the Israeli flag as photos of victims are displayed at an installation marking three years since Hamas' October 7 attacks on Israel. The event comes amid renewed concerns over rising antisemitism across Germany. Hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters, including climate activist Greta Thunberg, march through Kreuzberg and Neukölln, chanting slogans including 'Free Palestine'. The 2023 Hamas-led attack killed 1,221 people in Israel. Israel's subsequent offensive in Gaza has killed more than 74,200 people, according to the territory's Hamas-run health ministry, whose figures are considered reliable by the United Nations.
