Lithuania's consumer price inflation accelerated further in September to its highest level in more than three years, figures from the statistics office showed on Thursday. The consumer price index rose 6.7% year-on-year in September, faster than the 6.1% increase in August. This was the highest inflation rate since July 2023, when prices rose 7.4%. Transport charges continued to increase sharply, rising 20.2% from a year earlier amid higher fuel costs. Housing and utility costs grew by 15.9%, while health care prices were 5.7% higher. By contrast, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages declined 1.6%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices rebounded 1% after falling 0.1% in August.
