The Secretariat of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights told Ukrinform this in response to a request concerning, in particular, its assessment of the effectiveness of dialogue with Russia’s ombudswoman on various issues. “The situation in Oleshky shows the limits of bilateral dialogue between the institutions of the ombudsmen when it comes to carrying out a large-scale humanitarian operation,” the response said. At the same time, the Secretariat noted that in certain humanitarian cases, communication with Russia’s ombudswoman produces concrete practical results, allowing people to be returned or families to be reunited.
