Bitcoin slips under $82k amid surging oil prices, hit to Wall Street tech stocks

Investing.com -- Bitcoin dipped on Thursday, extending recent losses as risk sentiment took a hit from a more than 3% rise in oil prices and a hit to U.S. technology stocks. See the list now » The world's largest crypto fell 1.8% to $81,657.0 by 17:53 ET (21:53 GMT). It briefly hit a near three-week low of $81,755.0 earlier in the day. Broader crypto prices also fell in tandem with Bitcoin, with the sector vulnerable to some profit-taking after an extended rally through the September quarter. Fresh buying action by top corporate holder Strategy did little to deter Bitcoin's decline this week.
