Grab & Others Ink AI-Related Deal: Is This a Growth Catalyst?

Grab Holdings Limited GRAB has entered into a Framework Agreement with SoftBank Group Corp. and Petroleum Sarawak Berhad ("PETROS") to explore the development of an artificial intelligence (AI) and digital infrastructure platform in Sarawak, Malaysia. The collaboration aims to accelerate AI adoption, strengthen digital connectivity and support Sarawak's transition toward a technology-driven economy. The agreement was signed by SoftBank's chairman and CEO Masayoshi Son, Grab's chairman and CEO Anthony Tan, and PETROS' CEO Dato Janin Girie, in the presence of senior Sarawak government officials. Under the agreement, the three companies will jointly develop a roadmap for the platform's phased implementation.
