The White House has tapped Katie Zacharia, a conservative commentator who works for Trump Media & Technology Group, to be its next press secretary, a White House official confirmed to CNBC. Zacharia has been offered the role, the official said on condition of anonymity to discuss the hiring announcement. It was not immediately clear if she has accepted the offer. If she takes the job, Zacharia will succeed Karoline Leavitt , who left the Trump administration in late August.
