The Trump administration is suspending Microsoft and a handful of other firms from using the Permanent Labor Certification Program, or PERM, which allows companies to sponsor foreign workers for green cards. In an October 8 White House press conference, Vice President JD Vance singled out Microsoft, saying that the company is a major abuser of the program and can no longer submit green card applications for international employees. Pending applications will also be rejected, government officials said.
