Greek bonds are resilient in the face of international market turmoil, as strong fiscal performance, the reduction in public debt and its very structure protect Greek securities from shocks. Amid one of the most serious market crises of the last decade, Greek bond yields remain relatively subdued, easing concerns about worsening lending conditions. The relatively resilient image of Greek bonds is also linked to the country’s fiscal performance. Markets continue to take into account the history of the debt crisis and the 2012 restructuring.
