U.S. Treasury yields fall as energy prices pull back

Bond yields fell on Tuesday after energy prices moved lower in early trade, as investors look ahead to key economic data releases this week, including the latest U.S. inflation print. The 10-year Treasury note yield — the main benchmark for mortgages, auto loans, and credit card debt — fell more than 5 basis points to 5.1937%. The yield on longer-dated 30-year U.S. Treasurys — which tend to move on geopolitical events — was down four basis points at 5.5524%. The yield on the 2-year Treasury note , which more closely follows short-term Federal Reserve rate decisions, fell more than 2 basis points to 4.7679%.
