According to the source, overnight on October 14, SpaceX imposed a speed limit of 160 km/h on the terminals without warning the Defense Forces of Ukraine, causing the connection to be lost when that speed is exceeded. Depending on the equipment and unit, the connection is lost at different speeds, ranging from approximately 72 to 161 km/h. This is complicating the operation of drone missions, including interceptor and mid-strike missions, and reducing capabilities for frontline logistics, reconnaissance and communications relay. “As of now, the Defense Ministry is in contact with the United States, SpaceX and NATO partners, collecting data from all units, while backup communications channels are being reviewed and established,” the source said.
