Redwire Corporation RDW is expanding its spacecraft capabilities for Very Low Earth Orbit ("VLEO"), an orbital region that offers opportunities for imaging and lower-latency operations because of its proximity to Earth. The company's VLEO portfolio includes its U.S.-built SabreSat and European-built Phantom spacecraft. These platforms broaden Redwire's ability to support specialized space missions and address requirements that differ from those of spacecraft operating in higher orbits. A key development is Redwire's role in the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency's ("DARPA") Otter program. The company serves as the prime mission integrator, with the program using the SabreSat platform to develop an air-breathing satellite system.
