GE Vernova (GEV): A $176B Backlog Meets a 66x Price Tag

Most industrial companies would celebrate a quarter where orders nearly double. GE Vernova (NYSE:GEV) delivered 88% organic order growth in the second quarter of 2026, pushed its total backlog to $176 billion, and produced more free cash flow in three months than it did in all of 2025. And yet the stock still wears a price tag that makes even fans pause. The business is simple to describe and hard to copy. GE Vernova builds the machines that make and move electricity: gas turbines for power plants, wind turbines on land and at sea, and the grid gear (transformers, switchgear, and control software) that carries power to homes, factories, and a fast-growing crowd of data centers.
