In September 2025, the national unemployment rate was 4.4%, while Delaware’s jobless rate was 5.2%. Delaware’s jobless rate has steadily dropped after briefly exceeding 5% and, at one point, reaching one of the nation's highest rates. In September 2026, seasonally adjusted nonfarm employment was 495,800, down from 496,600 in August.
