Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL) closed at $134.47 on October 15. The stock returned -24.60% over the last 6 months, compared with a 15.4% return for the Insider Monkey Billionaire Index and 11.4% for the State Street SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust. Oracle sells database software and, increasingly, the computing power that runs other companies' artificial intelligence work. The second business is newer, far more expensive to build, and can be the reason the shares have behaved the way they have. The stock has lost 53.84% of its value over the past year. Even so, 80% of the analysts covering it still rate it a buy, and their median target sits 78.48% above today's price, per CNN.
