The upcoming UEFA Champions League match between Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Barcelona will not be postponed or cancelled despite the ongoing violent protests in France, the country’s Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu has said. Lecornu said on Monday he had asked regional authorities to impose “partial” and “localised” curfews in some cities to protect businesses after weekend demonstrations spilled over into some of the worst street violence in recent years. He said a state of emergency could be imposed “if necessary”, adding that curfews were a better solution to the crisis over violent protests. “I am absolutely determined to restore order,” Lecornu said at a news conference after a crisis meeting.
