PARIS — The French government has summoned leading online marketplaces such as Vinted and eBay to probe whether new listings include goods stolen during this weekend’s looting spree across France. “We expect these platforms to remove the listings in question without delay,” France’s Digital Affairs Minister Anne Le Hénanff wrote Monday in a post on X. “They will also be required to work closely with public authorities so that those reselling potentially stolen goods can be identified and prosecuted.” Le Hénanff and fellow cabinet members called a 7 p.m. meeting with representatives of Vinted, Amazon, eBay, Meta, and TikTok, as well as France’s leading independent reselling platform Leboncoin.
