Kathrin Deschauer, Spokesperson for Germany’s Federal Foreign Office, said this at a government press conference in Berlin on Thursday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent. “Ultimately, it is Ukraine that will decide what kind of peace is acceptable to it. But, of course, this is only possible if those directly affected play a key role,” Deschauer stressed. She was responding to journalists’ questions about possible talks between the United States and Russia and concerns that decisions concerning Ukraine could be made without Ukraine’s participation. The Foreign Office Spokesperson emphasized that Berlin has consistently advocated for Ukraine’s involvement in any diplomatic process aimed at ending the war.
