The bonds, which help finance green projects across the UK, were launched in 2021. There is a minimum investment of £100 and a maximum limit of £100,000 per person for each issue. Previously the interest rate on the accounts was 4.45% and the increase comes as many other fixed savings accounts have undergone rate hikes. Indeed, data from Moneyfacts showed the average one-year fixed saving rate rose for the seventh consecutive month to 4.41% – the highest in two years.
