Eurozone private-sector activity expanded at a slower pace in October, with the preliminary composite index falling to a four-month low and pointing to softer momentum across services and manufacturing. October’s composite output index registered 51.9, down from 53.1 in September, a 1.2-point decline. It was the weakest result in four months but stayed above 50, the level that signals expansion from the previous month. The flash estimate used about 85% of usual survey responses and was preliminary. It was released Friday, Oct. 23, at 4 a.m. ET (08:00 UTC). Services business activity dropped to 51.7 from 53.0, marking a two-month low. The headline manufacturing PMI eased to 52.4 from 52.
