Global financial markets face a "super central bank week." The Federal Reserve, the European Central Bank and the Bank of Japan will announce rate decisions in a dense stretch from Oct. 28 to Oct. 30, with the Bank of Canada and the Reserve Bank of New Zealand also holding policy meetings in the same period. Markets widely expect the Fed, the ECB and the BOJ to pause this week, but what really has bond and currency markets on edge is not the hold itself, but each central bank's hints about the "next hike" — and whether France's fiscal and bond-market turmoil will force the ECB to act. The Fed will announce its decision on Oct. 28 local time. In September it raised the federal funds rate target range by 25 basis points to 3.75%-4.
