A Democratic win in midterms could put prediction markets and the CFTC in the hot seat

The rise of prediction markets has confounded Washington D.C., with lawmakers still learning how the exchanges work — and little done in Congress to support or rein in the companies. But the midterm elections may spark movement, with both platforms and their regulator set to come under increased scrutiny as part of a broader oversight agenda by the Democratic party.
