Southern African Development Community launches Labour Market Observatory to strengthen evidence-based policymaking - International Labour Organization

With technical support from the International Labour Organization, the new regional platform will strengthen the use of comparable labour market data to inform employment and decent work policies across Southern Africa. Johannesburg (ILO News) – The Southern African Development Community (SADC) has launched its Labour Market Observatory (LMO), marking a major step towards strengthening labour market monitoring and evidence-based policymaking across the region. The Observatory was launched during the SADC Joint Technical Committee (JTTC) meeting hosted by South Africa in its capacity as Chair of SADC. It brings together labour market statistics from Member States, creating a regional platform for analysing employment and decent work trends.
