Nvidia to prop up British AI giant as data centre boom unwinds

Nvidia is poised to prop up the British AI giant Nscale amid signs that the data centre boom is beginning to unwind. The world's biggest chip company is reportedly in discussions to provide financial backing for Nscale's new flagship US data centre that Anthropic plans to use. Nvidia would provide credit support to backstop the construction and electricity costs of the new complex in West Virginia, which will be equipped with its chips. The support, first reported by The Information, would hand a much-needed boost to Nscale after Microsoft pulled the plug on a similar agreement for a major data centre in Essex.
