BRUSSELS — The European Union and Canada have agreed a framework to invest more European money in Canadian critical minerals, as part of a broader agreement to boost raw material and energy trade between the two jurisdictions. The EU confirmed Friday it had concluded negotiations that would "facilitate European investments in critical Canadian resources, in particular in critical raw materials," following talks between senior EU officials and the Canadian government in Montreal. The investments would be made through the European Investment Bank, the EU's lending arm. The two jurisdictions will also carry out a "long-term feasibility study" on exporting Canadian liquified natural gas to Europe.
