The adoption of artificial intelligence is emerging as a key determinant of European productivity growth and is currently providing a significant stimulus to the euro area economy, according to the European Central Bank . In remarks published by the ECB, the central bank noted that while frontier AI models are developed mainly in the United States and China, European firms participate in the global AI supply chain and European investors help fund the global buildout of AI infrastructure through equity and debt markets and the banking system.
