Looted shops, burning barricades as riots erupt in Frankfurt

Police remained on duty in central Frankfurt on Sunday, 1 November, after riots broke out following a demonstration the previous day. Hesse state premier Boris Rhein condemned the violence, saying he was shocked by the events and that those responsible would face consequences.
