Russian strikes against Ukrainian energy infrastructure have left thousands of households without electricity, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Sunday. “Overnight alone, our energy infrastructure came under Russian attack in four regions: Dnipro, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, and Khmelnytskyi. Substations, transformers, and power lines that supply electricity to our people’s homes were targeted, Zelenskyy wrote on social media. “As of now, hundreds of thousands of families remain without power,” he added, noting that the “intensity of the strikes is extremely high.” Zelenskyy’s comments came as Russian authorities reported a “massive” Ukrainian drone strike overnight on an industrial facility in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
