Ireland's manufacturing sector remained in expansion territory in October, though the pace of growth eased slightly while cost pressures resurfaced. According to data published Monday by AIB (Allied Irish Banks), the seasonally adjusted AIB Ireland Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) edged down to 55.2 from 55.5 in September, the lowest reading in three months but still clearly above the 50 mark separating growth from contraction. By sub-sector, output growth slowed from the four-and-a-half-year high set in September, though manufacturers widely reported rising customer demand and continued capacity upgrades as the main supports for expansion.
