Vehicles were swept away by powerful floodwaters on the Greek island of Rhodes early on Monday, 2 November, after heavy rain hit the eastern village of Archangelos. Cars and trucks were left partly submerged as water rushed through the streets, carrying rubbish bins and debris. Homes were also flooded, with Archangelos reporting the worst damage, according to local media. Dozens of homes and businesses were affected, and the full extent of the damage was still being assessed. Although the rain had eased by Monday morning, meteorologists warned that further showers and thunderstorms were possible, potentially bringing more disruption to the island.
