The eurozone economy recorded quarterly GDP growth of 0.4% in the third quarter of 2026, down from 0.6% in the previous quarter, according to an economic analysis by ING. Despite rising energy prices and geopolitical uncertainty, the region's economy has continued to demonstrate resilience. ING chief economist Bert Colijn said the eurozone appeared to have weathered the economic impact of the Middle East crisis, with growth accelerating since the conflict began at the end of February. However, the effects have varied across individual markets. Among the larger eurozone economies, France recorded a contraction of 0.1%, while Italy's economy stagnated. Spain and the Netherlands both achieved growth of 0.6%, compared with 0.7% in the previous quarter.
