Annual inflation in the eurozone accelerated to 4% in October 2026, the highest level in more than three years, compared to 3.8% in September. This is evidenced by a flash estimate from Eurostat. In particular, energy prices rose by 20.8% last month compared to 18.9% in September, while non-energy industrial goods prices increased by 1.2% (1.1% in September). Core inflation, which excludes energy and food, remained stable at 2.5%. Among the largest economies in the region, annual inflation in October stood at 3.8% in France and 5.6% in Italy. Germany, as Euronews notes , was the main exception. The inflation rate in the country fell from 3.3% to 2.8% over the period.
