Apple has restricted employees' use of AI in an effort to cut costs. The tech giant – the world's most valuable company – reduced engineering staff's daily usage caps from $300 (£223) a day to $200, according to Bloomberg. Revolut, Britain's most valuable tech start-up, said this week that it had saved substantial sums by moving staff from using expensive "frontier" systems to cheaper Chinese models running on its own servers.
