The most useful thing about the premium edition of Grand Theft Auto VI is not anything inside it. It is that Rockstar lets you buy it in two halves. Owners of the Standard Edition can add the Ultimate Edition Upgrade from the PlayStation or Microsoft store whenever they choose, and on current listings that add-on costs exactly the difference between the two editions. The choice that has dominated pre-order chatter for months turns out to have no deadline. That matters because the gap between the editions is not cosmetic. The Ultimate Edition holds whole shops, extra missions and a stable of cars that the cheaper copy never opens. Take-Two’s chief executive has already said the early money leans towards the premium version.
