This is stated in a written response by the German Federal Government to a parliamentary inquiry submitted by the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party in the Bundestag, Ukrinform reports. “Since the start of Russia's war of aggression on February 24, 2022, the German Federal Government has provided or earmarked for more than €43.3 billion in bilateral civilian aid and approximately €57.6 billion in military aid to Ukraine,” the document states. The government’s figures also include assistance to Ukrainian citizens residing in Germany. The military component covers not only assistance already delivered but also funding earmarked for future years, meaning that not all of the stated amounts have actually been spent.
